Diet

So I'm going on a diet. Not a weight-loss diet -- I don't do those; I *adore* my fat body, and have no desire to change that aspect of me. I'm embarking on a heart-healthy nutrition-and-exercise diet*, with the support and encouragement of my fat-friendly doctor. I just wanted to let readers of this blog know that so that if you like, you can opt out of hearing about it. It can be tedious for some folks, reading about how someone is increasing whole grain and veggie consumption and finding creative ways to prepare low-fat foods, so here's your chance to bail.

(*I refuse to call this a "lifestyle change" or a "way of eating" or such nonsense that tries to pretend it's not a diet when you do anything to restrict certain foods in your life.)

Anyway, no hard feelings if you bail. If, however, you want to see recipes and pictures of low-fat vegan food, this is the place. :-)

I'm excited because I'm doing my best to eat low-fat and definitely sticking to vegan, so will love it. I'm the anti-mcdougaller because I do my best but won't go crazy to avoid oils. I think avoiding meat and dairy is enough for now. I'm also cutting white flour and sugar as much as possible because I have PCOS and want to steer clear of diabetes.

So yes...will enjoy reading more! Thanks for posting your menus and recipes!
