Huh.

Well, looks like I was wrong. That's the third time in a row (once at the doctor's, and now twice at work) that my blood pressure has tested normal. And I got the blood tests back -- every single result is on the good side of normal. Even after a few years of eating meat, my cholesterol is 161, and every other number was perfect. So maybe I don't need to stress about a diet. Maybe I need to do what my cardiologist said and just keep doing whatever I've been doing.

(Which isn't to say I'm gonna stop trying to find the perfect vegan cheese sauce or anything. :-)

But anyway, in the immortal words of Emily Litella, "Never mind!"

Perfect vegan cheese sauce! Yes!

I'm really glad you can put butter on your toast if you want to, though. 8-)

Me, too. :-)

And the thing I always miss most is real mayo.

(And shrimp. But mostly mayo.)

Nasoya is nasty, but I like Vegannaise.

Nothing beats real, homemade mayo, though.

Oh, same here, on all counts. I will say that the new mayos coming out with lime-based versions (Kraft has one, as does Kirkland/Costco) are almost as good as homemade, to me.

You're just going to have to live with being healthy. (Grin, duck, and run!)

:-) You laugh, but I actually thought about Body Impolitic when this was going through my brain -- what is it like in this country to be healthy, and not have anything you need to do to improve yourself? What does it mean to look at your body, inside and out, and have nothing niggling or wrong? Do I feel proud? Lucky? Do I start looking for something ELSE to improve? (The answer for me is that I choose consciously to just be happy with where I am, and enjoy a little extra time not spent in doctors' offices, but it struck me that "what do I do with a healthy body" as a question says something about how illness may be the expected default in my head, and maybe in most people's heads.)
