In the crockpot right now: a pot of seitan and potato stew for supper (made the seitan this morning)

In the bread machine: whole-wheat-and-onion bread.

In the fridge: the rest of the previous loaf of bread, a whole-wheat sandwich loaf; a pot of brown rice for lunch; a pitcher of rice milk

For lunch, we will be having soy strips in ginger-miso gravy, over brown rice, and probably some veggies on the side. For dinner, the pot of stew. I'll try to remember to take photos, and I'll definitely post recipes for anything that turns out well.

I feel rich.

Ginger-miso TVP

TVP chunks in a ginger-miso gravy, brown rice, steamed bok choy

I'm not going to win any photography awards for this one, but the gravy was really good, and lunch was nutritious and filling. I didn't soak the TVP long enough (I usually use the granules, and didn't estimate well on the timing for the chunks), but it was still good. The gravy is based on the method for Isa's chickpea gravy, but the ingredients are a lot different. Recipe below the cut. It's really, really good, if you ask me, and I think it could feasibly sub for poultry gravy.

I liked tonight's stew. The seitan was kinda rubbery (I really wish I could reliably make seitan with just the texture I like, but oh, well), but it was really nice to have a thick, hot stew to dip fresh onion bread into (both recipes below). Perfect wintry weather food.

Recipes: The stew I threw together. The bread is the Ultimate Sandwich Bread with a couple of changes. )

No pics, sorry.
