In the mood to start posting food pictures again, so even though my brunch today wasn't a feast for the eyes, here it is. (It was a real feast for the mouth, however. I really love pink lentils, even though they don't cook up pink, which would be fun.)

Brunch, 8-20-06 Brunch, 8-20-06

Leftover lentil stew from Friday night (lentils, garlic, seasoned salt, onion, green beans); sprouted sourdough toast; roma tomato slices

Spooky. :-)

I forgot to mention I put in oregano from my garden. It makes me so happy to eat stuff I've grown.

Hiya! Thanks for the welcome. [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy was sweet enough to water the plants, but he only remembered to do it once. Still, they're doing great -- there are tomatoes on one of the plants, and blossoms on all the others. The beets look *great*, and we've got strawberries! I'll try to take pictures in the next day or two.

How have you been, hon? I still owe you a batch of toffee -- I haven't forgotten, it's just that when my thermometer broke, that was enough to break my momentum. :-)

I'd love to have a garden! YUM - beets and strawberries!! What are you going to do with the verbena? I've never really heard of it before. Would you use like you would mint? (as just a mild flavoring?)

I'm doing pretty good, thanks! :) No problem about the toffee - I know how super busy you are! Can't wait to see the pics of the garden now that it's blossoming! Wooo Hooooooo!!

Oh, yes, lemon verbena's wonderful. We got a bunch with our organic box, and it made gorgeous-smelling tea that I liked (I don't generally like herbal teas). I dried the rest. It's a different thing, though: http://www.mountainvalleygrowers.com/alotriphylla.htm )

I'll have to try lemon verbena tea - I don't usually like herbal teas either. Sounds good! Thanks for the info! <3
